Bjørn is an economist from the University of Aarhus. He has worked for the Danish Central Bank since 2011. The first couple of years with the central bank's Collateral Management policy for monetary policy loans. This was in the aftermath of the financial crisis, and therefore with a focus on a reduction of the collateral available for central bank liquidity. From 2013 to 2018 Bjørn was working as a subject matter expert and later as a project manager in a large internal IT-project. The aim of the project was to replace the central bank's RTGS solution with a standardized solution. This included a solution for handling collateral for monetary policy operations. Since early 2019 Bjørn has worked as Head of Financial Market Solutions. The team is responsible for the central bank’s internal banking solutions, e.g. the portfolio management solution. IT operations are provided as services from external providers and include a heavy use of Cloud solutions. This is a general strategy in the central bank.
